Aesthetic and Functional Smile Design
Hands-On, Over-the-Shoulder Live Patient Treatment Course
This 23 credit course is a 3 day diagnostic and treatment planning, hands-on, live patient treatment course. This course will give you the knowledge, skills, and confidence to do ideal dentistry in your practice. You will have an opportunity to watch multi-unit aesthetic dentistry done on a live patient. You will learn how to perform your case evaluation using Myotronic’s diagnostic equipment, and how to treatment plan and execute the case.
Management of a neuromuscular orthotic and techniques to ensure aesthetic as well as functionally optimum occlusion will be taught and demonstrated on a live patient. This course provides a great opportunity to receive hands-on training in smile design, adhesive dentistry, and occlusion, at the highest level, at a fraction of the cost of comparable courses. It is highly recommended that you bring your team to support and implement the techniques learned in this course.
The instructors, Dr. Raman, Dr. Kherani, and Dr. Miyasaki are leading Neuromuscular clinicians with extensive experience and expertise in TMD / occlusion and aesthetics. To maximize the hands-on learning experience, attendance is limited to 11 attendees.
You Will Learn

Day 1:

Preparation Design and Material Selection - Learn how to select the material that will give you the aesthetics and durability needed in a large case and how to create the proper preparations

Smile Design - How to evaluate and design a smile that your patient wants with the proportions that create a functional comfortable smile

Creating a Trial Smile - How you communicate with the laboratory and how you create a Trial Smile for your patient making the preparation easier

Observe live, over-the-shoulder patient treatment with the preparation of the anterior and posterior teeth for predictable, long-lasting restorations including making the impressions of a multi-unit case and efficient provisionalization

Essential Photographic Communication -The essentials needed for proper laboratory communication (contour, texture, length, and color characteristics) to get the final result you want
Day 2:

Physiologic Neuromuscular Dentistry - Review the basics of anatomy and application principles

Hands-on application of the K7 system to demonstrate the connection between physiology and aesthetics - the missing piece of the puzzle

Coronoplasty - Concepts of neuromuscular tooth contacts and their creation

Day 3:

Cementation - Adhesive bonding basics and principles that can be applied to one-unit or multiple-unit cases that will make the task easier

Observe the delivery of a multi-unit aesthetic case on a live patient

Discussion on materials and lab communication

Case presentation - Ideas on how to prepare a motivating consultation and team communication

Team Building - Success takes a team that can effectively communicate and build value for the patient ​

MEET THE INSTRUCTORS
MICHAEL A. MIYASAKI, DDS

Sacramento, California
Michael Miyasaki, DDS graduated from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry in 1987. For over 30 years he has lectured internationally on Occlusion and Restorative techniques and has been involved in live-patient treatment courses for 25 years. Dr. Miyasaki is the head of the Academy of Minimally Invasive Implantology, is the current Director of Education for the Pacific Aesthetic Continuum focused on live-patient full mouth rehabilitation, and works with many manufacturers on R&D and Education. Dr. Miyasaki maintains a private practice in Sacramento, CA, focused on comprehensive dentistry and function.
SAM KHERANI, DDS, MBA (Wharton), FAGD, MICCMO

Calgary, Canada
Dr. Kherani received his DDS from the University of Western Ontario in 1981. He maintains a successful NM practice in Calgary, Canada with emphasis in aesthetics and TMD. A practicing dentist for 34 years, he founded The Millennium Institute as the first live patient training institute in Calgary. Dr. Kherani has trained hundreds of NM dentists on the use of the K7 for optimum evaluation and effective treatment and has served as a Clinical Director at the Las Vegas Institute for 5 years. His ability to teach a balance between business and professional aspects allows for the underpinnings of a successful long lasting practice philosophy. Dr. Kherani's passion for NMD and his ability to share practical clinical techniques, in a simple fashion, makes him a natural educator.
PRABU RAMAN, DDS, MICCMO, LVIM, FACD, FPFA

Kansas City, Missouri
Dr. Raman received his DDS from University of Missouri in 1983. He has achieved Mastership from the International College of Craniomandibular Orthopedics and the Las Vegas Institute. For 12 years, Dr. Raman served as LVI Clinical Instructor training hundreds of dentists in aesthetics, neuromuscular full mouth reconstruction and NM Orthodontics. He was also a featured speaker in Practical Advanced TMD practice and Cranio Cervical Physical Therapy courses. Dr. Raman maintains a private practice in Kansas City dedicated to TMD treatment, Neuromuscular Functional Orthodontics & Aesthetics. He is President of the Missouri Dental Association and a member of the ADA Council on Dental Education and Licensure where he serves as Chair, Recognition of Dental Specialties and Interest Areas in General Dentistry Committee.

Cancellation Policy
Since space is limited for these hands-on courses in order to create the best learning experience possible, cancellations received outside the 60 days prior to the course are subject to a cancellation fee of $500 per Doctor and $200 per team member. No refunds will be given if canceled within 60 days of the event. Cancellations must be in writing.

Should Myotronics cancel a course; Myotronics will refund the fees in full.
